WhatsApp Communication Privacy Notice

1. Data controller

The data controller for WhatsApp communications is Attorney Yavuz Çağlar. Current address, telephone and email details appear at the end of this page and on the contact page.

2. Data that may be processed

• Telephone number, WhatsApp profile name and profile image
• Messages, voice notes, photographs, documents and other attachments you send
• Communication date, time and conversation history
• Information about you or third parties that you provide in connection with your legal request

3. Purposes

• Responding to your request and arranging a meeting
• Assessing the general scope of the request and a possible legal-services relationship
• Establishing and performing a legal-services relationship
• Meeting legal duties and establishing, exercising or protecting rights
• Maintaining communication and information security

4. Collection method and legal grounds

Data is collected electronically when you send it directly through WhatsApp. Processing relies on the grounds in Article 5 of Turkish Law No. 6698, including steps related to a contract, legal obligations, the establishment, exercise or protection of rights, and legitimate interests.

Sensitive personal data is processed only where an appropriate condition under Article 6 applies and suitable safeguards are in place. Please do not send health, criminal-conviction or similarly sensitive documents during initial contact unless necessary.

5. Transfers and WhatsApp infrastructure

Messages are transmitted through the WhatsApp service you choose. WhatsApp and its providers may process data under their own terms and privacy policies, including through systems outside Türkiye.

The office may disclose data only where legally required or necessary for the service, and only to authorised public bodies, judicial authorities and confidentiality-bound providers under applicable transfer conditions.

6. Retention

Initial enquiries that do not become a legal-services relationship are retained for no more than one year after the last contact unless a dispute or legal retention duty requires otherwise. If a legal-services relationship is established, records may be retained for applicable statutory, professional and limitation periods and are then deleted, destroyed or anonymised.

You may submit requests under Article 11 of Law No. 6698 by delivering a signed petition identifying you and your request to the office address below. Applications are answered under the applicable statutory procedure and time limits.

9. How the link works

The WhatsApp button does not create a pre-filled message or send message content to this website. WhatsApp may process technical data under its own privacy policy when the link opens; processing of communication data by the office begins when you send a WhatsApp message.
